Last weeks draw in the Club Lotto produced a Jackpot Winner. Congratulations to Esther and Lorraine Maher who scooped the top prize of €20,000 . The numbers drawn were 3, 5, 10 ,24 and the bonus number was: 12. The good news is that the Jackpot will be top again. Tickets can be bought from the usual selling agents or by asking at the clubhouse bar. Remember – if you’re not in; you can’t win the jackpot prize of €20,000.
ALL-IRELAND MADNESS
All roads lead to Croke Park on Sunday as many of you make the journey to support our county hurlers on their quest for yet another All-Ireland Hurling title. O’Loughlin will do their part in getting the supporters there by running buses from the club on Sunday morning. Bus leaves the club at 9.30am sharp and you need to get to the club bar now to get your name down for the last remaining seats. Adults cost €15 with Juveniles costing €10. KCLR as part of their pre-match build up will feature ex-kilkenny players being interviewed by juvenile members of their clubs. Brian Hogan will have a stiff challenge as he faces questions from u8s Star Ruaidhri Hanrahan. Brian may be media savvy but I expect his broadcasting skills will be put to the test by this bright young star.
The Drive for Liam Table Quiz brought a good crowd to the Club last Thursday evening. It was a great nights fun with plenty of craic. Team Mullholland topped the scores from the O’Loughlin Gaels venue just pipping Team Hogan in a tight finish. It wasn’t enough though to scoop the top prize but another good job done by all the Gaels in support of the Kilkenny senior hurling team.

It’s a huge honour and a source of great pride to have our own Mark Kelly in Croke Park on the 1st Sunday in September. A GAEL FORCE
It might have been a disappointing weekend for Kilkenny development squad teams but not for our O'Loughlin Gaels representations. 15 of our Gaels were involved this weekend in what was a huge honour for our club. O’Loughlin Gael players captained the teams at u14s and u16s teams adding to a Gael already captaining the county minor side in 2015. The u17s with Jay Leahy and Sean Bolger did win the shield final but the following group of u15s all played on the only victorious Kilkenny team this weekend when Kilkenny North beat Kilkenny South in the u15 competition –well done to Conor Heary, Luke Hogan, Jamie Malone, Osìn Murphy and Dacel Fwamba. Congratulations to the 18 juvenile players who all represented Kilkenny Teams for 2015. Minor; Daniel O’Connor, Ross Butler, Shane O’Mahony. U17; Jay Leahy, Sean Bolger. JUVENILE NEWS
The juveniles continue their busy end of season run with another weekend of games and fixtures ahead. Last weekend saw the u6s and u10s host tournaments that saw 13 clubs and over 320 young players grace the St. Johns Park fields over Saturday and Sunday. Saturday the u9s and u10s ran two separate blitz where each team played 3 matches each. Na Fianna, Mt. Sion, Dicksboro, James Stephens, Borrisoleigh all joined O’Loughlin Gaels for a feast of hurling followed by a feast of sandwiches. Sunday was a similar scenario where 200 of the youngest from seven different clubs descended on the Hebron Road location for some entertaining matches. Cushenstown of Wexford, Dicksboro, Carrickshock, James Stephens, Bennettsbridge, John Locks and Tularoan all joined O’Loughlin Gaels on a beautiful sunny morning for what was the highlight of the weekends calendar. On Saturday the u8s travelled to Abbeyleix with two teams where they played in a mini-tournament which saw them pitted against each other in final game. Managers John Sheridan and John Morrissey set their teams up for an ‘in-house- grudge game but such was the standard of play a draw was a fair reflection on these lads workrate. The two Johns may settle their scores in the hand-ball alley perhaps!. The u12s took part in the final rounds to the Go-Games challenges which has been a long road as every week for the last number of weeks these guys have played 1 and 2 games per week. A busy schedule and a lot of work done by the u12s . Well done to everybody involved.
U16s LOOK TO CHAMPIONSHIP
Championship times looms again for the u16s with 2 semi-finals to look forward to this weekend. The Roinn A Championship sees a mouthwatering fixture when the Gaels take on the Village on Saturday afternoon. This will be a cracker with the two city teams going head to head for that final place. O’Loughlin Gaels are preparing well..training continues and challenge games are all going well. It’s the same for the u16b’s who will play their Roinn C semi-final against The Fenians later that evening. These boys are doing everything their A colleagues are doing and certainly don’t hold back when they all train together. A selection from both panels went to the Killenaule 7’s tournament last weekend where they came away Tournament Winners after beating Middleton of Cork in a tense final. Best of luck to both teams and well done to their mentors for the great work put into these guys all summer .
GOLF CLASSIC
Last weeks’ Golf Classic was another fundraising Success with a large turnout T-ing off over the two day event. There was plenty of birdies, pars, bogeys, double bogeys and triple…(no point in me going on really). Good food and a bit of craic was had by all and thanks to Kilkenny Golf Club who as always are very professional and hospitable. Well done to all the golfers and keep your calendars free for next year’s event.

Juniors into Championship Semi-Final
The O’Loughlin Gaels Junior Camogie team advance to the Championship semi-final after beating Mooncoin on Sunday afternoon with a fie display. The girls continue to train hard and look strong as he drive towards the penultimate stage of the competition. Best of luck girls.
Minors Championship Win
A good week for O’Loughlin Gaels Camogie started with a 1st round Championship win for the Minor girls as they negotiated the challenge of the Rower-Insitioge to advance to round 2. Keep up the good work girls.
U16s in Roinn B Shield Final
These girls have been playing well all summer and an opportunity to take some silverware is just rewards for all their hard work. An emphatic performance over neighbours Clara sets them up for a final encounter and chance now to do exactly that. Best of luck girls.
U12s Girls Reach Championship Final.
Well done to the u12 Camogie team this evening who defeated Emeralds, Urlingford in the semi-final of the championship. There was no stopping the team who defended so well and got some top class scores. Having lost to emeralds twice earlier this year, the girls showed great commitment and skill last Thursday evening. Well done to this great bunch of players who are now in the final.... Best of luck girls.
U8s Travel to Clara Blitz
Well done to our u8s Camogie and their mentors on three massive performances at Clara Camogie last Saturday morning. The sunny morning made it perfect conditions for championship style play on the well-manicured pitches at Clara GAA club and goals were abundant. The girls played Tullaroan , Clara and Conahy and showed that they look the part as a promising outfit for O'Loughin Gaels Camogie. Well done girls and keep up the good work.

Not to be out done the u6 camogie girls travelled to the annual Gowran field day where they took on Gowran in what has been described as a ‘bruising enounter’. Our all-conquering heroines met a stiff challenge in Gowran and the 1 goal each result is a refletion on the all-defensive tactics applied by both management teams. Tense stuff for a well-coached outfit.!!
