U16 COUNTY FINAL
Please support out u16a’s who play the Roinn A County Hurling Final on Saturday against a fancied Dicksboro side. The game is scheduled for Kells Rd on Saturday at 3pm but keep an eye to the club’s social media pages for any updates. Credit to the O’Loughlin Gaels faithful they’ve been supporting our teams in numbers all through the summer and getting great return from the player. This weekend will be no better and with a county title at stake the boys will need every bit of support they can get. Best wishes to the lads and their management team. Up the ‘Loughs!
The u16b’s ran out of luck on Sunday evening in Bennettsbridge when they fell short against rivals James Stephens in a pulsating Roinn C Championship Semi-final. Normal time couldn’t separate the boys after a rip roaring contest that saw our lads put in astonishing five minutes of hurling that reaped a 1-2 from play to deservedly draw the game. Extra time went every way for the opposition as weary legs and strains forced immediate substitutions and a confusion allowing them a five point advantage after the first ten minutes. The fight back was on but with the winners in defensive mode there was no space to swing a cat let alone a hurl inside their 21’. A great game of hurling that the large crowd thoroughly enjoyed and well done to both sets of players and to the worthy victors. There’s been a great job done with this large panel of u16 players so well done to all involved.
CLUB LOTTO
There was no winner of last week’s Club Lotto..The numbers drawn were 1, 16, 20, 23 and the bonus number was: 25. THE PRIDE OF THE PARISH
Well done to Jamie Young, Conor Kelly and David Fogarty who helped the Kilkenny u15 Development Squad teams to victory in the Intercounty Hurling Tournament held in Wexford last weekend. All three players will line out for our u16A’s on Saturday in a bid to claim the Roinn A Hurling County Championship. Well done boys.
U6 HURLING TOURNAMENT
A Sun-drenched St. Johns Park welcomed teams from all over to their 5th annual u6 Hurling Tournament last Sunday afternoon. Well over 200 enthusiastic young players graced our fields with their families for what has become the event of the year for many clubs throughout the region. Dicksboro, James Stephens, St. Martins, Bagenalstown, Cushinstown, John Lockes , Clara and Barrow Rangers all brought teams to the event which was excellently coordinated by u6 maestro Stephen McCormack and his team. The Liam McCarthy Cup pain doe final outing of the year before it heads off to get polished in preparation for its safe return to Noreside next week!!!...and medals were presented to all the participants to commemorate what was likely their first ever taste of tournament action. The 2 hour extravaganza ended with a fine BBQ put on by the aforementioned Stephen and O’Loughlin Gaels GAA would like to convey its appreciation for the efforts put in at this age group for the good of the game. Well done all involved and in particular well done and congratulations to all the young players… lovely hurling!

U12s FINALS
Great job by the O’Loughlin Gaels u12s teams who hosted one of the divisional finals at St. Johns Park last Saturday morning. Two O’Loughlin Teams along with Rathdowney Erril and Emeralds played out some thrilling hurling in front of a large contingent . Hard hitting, long drives and silky skills were in abundance to satisfy all that the beautiful game of hurling is getting stronger and stronger. The future is in safe hands with all these young lads and credit to mentors from all clubs for putting in their time and efforts for the good of the game and all young aspiring players. Once all the hurling was finished it was up to the front of the club house to enjoy a fantastic spread of sandwiches, cakes, buns and biscuits provided by all the u12 parents. Well done to all involved especially our own group of players who continue to make O’Loughlin Gaels GAA proud.
