CHAMPIONS OUT
Senior C'Ship Semi Final
O'Loughlin Gaels 0:14 to 1:14 Dicksboro.
A first half goal proved the difference between these two sides in a game that not unlike the league final, never caught fire. The Gaels struggled to find inspiration to take this game by the scruff of the neck...and if they had the pendulum could easily have swung the other way. Every opportunity in fairness was stifled by a hungrier looking Boro side and they did enough to put themselves into a Co. Final. . the first all city final since 1950.
So the Champions are out...but there's plenty to look forward to..lots of young blood coming up the ranks and ready to take ownership of that coveted jersey once the opportunity arises.
Yes, it was a weekend that didn't deliver on its promise, but how many clubs would love to be in that same position on a Friday evening in mid October. Quite a few I suggest. So there's good work being done...players are coming through, and on Wednesday week the club can look forward to a minor Semi-Final and a chance to take in some more silverware. So chin up and keep on supporting O'Loughlin Gaels GAA Club. It serves us well. Hon the Loughs.
JUNIORS NEEDED THE POWER
O'Loughlin Gaels 0:19 to 1:17 John Lockes
A last minute point from James Power broke the hearts of the O'Loughlins support. A great final in Nowlan Park produced chances that could easily have seen our boys celebrating but at the end of any great contest there has to be a runner up. Fair play to the John Locke’s lads , worthy winners of this years Championship. Best of luck to them in the Leinster club championship in a couple of weeks.
Hard luck to all involved and well done on a great year that brought pride to O'Loughlin Gaels GAA
CLUB LOTTO - €20,000
There was no winner of last weeks Club Lotto. The numbers drawn were 05, 06, 23, 28 and the bonus number was 03. Next week’s Jackpot prize will be €20,000 so make sure to get a ticket from the usual promotors. Tickets only €2 available from the bar http://www.oloughlingaels.gaa.ie/lotto
KATE’S A CHAMPION
Well done to Kate Furlong of Johnswell who played a large part in Presentation Secondary School’s success at the British & Irish Schools Soccer Championship in Lilleshall, England last weekend. Kate and her school team went to the Championships as Irish Champions and won every match they competed in, with our Kate netting numerous fine goals. The girls added British & Irish Champions to a long list of accolades picked up over the year. Well done Kate & well done Presentation Secondary Kilkenny.
MINOR CHAMPIONSHIP
The Minor A Championship continues next Wednesday evening wit semi-final clash against Graigue-Ballycallan fixed for MW Hire Dunmore at 7pm. The lads have been going strongly and training hard and will be eager to make amends for last weekends disappointments. They’ll need plenty of help though..lots of support please.
U8s COMPLETE A FINE SEASON
All juvenile age groups have just about completed their programmes for the year and u8s finished up on Sunday morning after an epic year of hurling and football. Well done to all the young players and a big thanks to the parents who supported them and of course the coaches who look after the young lads sporting welfare.
