O’Loughlin Gaels Gaa Club Race Night was another great success. Big crowds turned out to Kilkenny Dog Track and enjoyed a feast of entertainment and a feast of hot dogs.
MINOR COUNTY FOOTBAL CHAMPION
It was a disappointing evening at Kells road where a fist half wind advantage gave Danesfort the platform to take the points from this league encounter. Danesfort’s Richie Hogan brought his county form to the table and caused all kinds of problems for a defence already under pressure from the elements. The 2-11 to 0-6 half time scoreline was too much of a deficit to close but in fairmes to our lads they dug in and kept at it and got themselves in a position to steal the game as the final whistle approached. Goals from Paddy Butler (Free) and Alan Geoghegan narrowed the score to just two points with 4 minutes remaining but Danesfort returned one ensure that O’Loughlins had to go for goal as the game closed out . Mark Bergin did get a chance in the dying moments but the ball failed to dip at the appropriate moment and went over for a point. Another break now but and a chance to regroup as they prepare for the final league match against Ballyhale in a few weeks time.
