On Saturday evening next, 5th March at 7.30 until 9pm in the club, we will hold a Club Health and Wellbeing information evening entitled - O'Loughlin Gaels GAA Club, Kilkenny, Ireland and O'Loughlin Gaels Camogie Club - Promoting a Healthy Club for all Players and Members. John Leahy, HSE Drug Education Officer, will speak about Substance Abuse - Alcohol and Drugs, and Caroline Clifford, HSE Mental Health Services, will speak about suicide, depression and self-harm awareness. Q&A followed by tea/biscuits. All players from U 14 to Senior, managers, selectors, mentors, parents, family & executive members are welcome.
NHL PARKING ARRANGEMENTS
On Sunday next Kilkenny will host Galway in the National Hurling League at Nowlan Park (2pm Throw-in). As always O’Loughlin Gals will play their part in making sure the event runs smoothly. Our juveniles will be about selling programs to the expected large crowd., and St. Johns Park will provide convenient parking for all visitors. Parking is charged at €5 per car so make sure to tell your friends. The club will provide teas and sandwiches plus the bar will be open all day. O’Loughlin Gaels Bar & Lounge is the closest facility to Nowlan Park to park up safely and enjoy the banter that a big match occasion brings. Spread the word.
JUVENILE TRAINING
Juvenile training for u6 to u12s continues in St. Johns Park each Sunday morning from 10.30am. So far there has been big attendance and lots of good hurling. There’s been new faces and more are welcome. A player can register any Sunday morning with the respective manager so please do so soon even if you only intend to get involved later in the summer. Registration for insurance purposes is so important. This weekend will see some teams host visiting teams for the first games of the juvenile season so if your son is involved please come and support him and his team mates.

There was no winner of last week’s Lotto. The numbers drawn were 3, 7, 9, 13 and the bonus number was: 2. Tickets can be bought from the usual selling agents or by asking at the clubhouse bar. Remember – if you’re not in; you can’t win the jackpot prize of €20,000.

SENIOR FOOTBALL
The seniors continue their participation in the Senior Football League with a home fixture versus Clara on Saturday afternoon. Your support is always welcomed.
COLLEGES LEINSTER FINAL
St. Kieran’s College were the victors in a hard fought Leinster Colleges Final with CBS Kilkenny on Saturday last. O’Loughlin Gaels had very good representation on the day through both panels and we say we’re proud of you all. There’s is a back door for the vanquished so there’s still a chance these boys could come up against each other later in the All-Ireland series. Best wishes to both teams as they go forward and well done to St. Kieran’s College.
U14s FOOTBALL WIN
Well done to our Football u14 team who had a comprehensive win over James Stephens on Saturday evening at the Kells Road in the Roinn A Football League. Two teams gave it their all and some fine football was produced entertaining a decent support. Well done to all involved. The lads are due to take on Graigue Ballycallan in the next round at the weekend so as always please show them your support.

O’Loughlin Gaels GAA bar opens Thursdays through to Sundays and Tuesday evenings from 8pm with a growing ‘congregation’ as Paddy Greene and his team offer great value drinks and a great service that includes updates on what’s going on plus a few wise words. Tuesday night is Lotto night, Thursday evening sees the regular poker night; Friday, Saturday & Sunday hosts families and neighbours with Sunday evenings now adding Shanghai darts and quiz night to the entertainment. JUVENILE CAMOGIE
There’s good news for the girls of St. Johns Parish as Juvenile Camogie returns to the pitches at St. Johns Park. SATURDAY MORNINGS AT 10.30am will see all girls from u6 to u14 take part in regular training sessions run by a large crew of coaches. Parents are invited to stick around and watch how the girls skills are developed and enjoy a sideline chat. O’Loughlin Gaels Camogie is looking forward to another successful season ahead.
