O’LOUGHLIN TEAM NEWS
Result: Senior hurling League
O'Loughlin Gaels 1:18 to 1:15 Rower Inistioge
Playing against a strong breeze in the first half O’Loughlins worked hard to maintain a two point advantage at the break. A fine penalty save by Stephen Murphy on the stroke of half time was a blow to the Rower challenge and on the restart the Gaels took charge of the game. Sammy Johnson found the net early and Brian Hogan dominated at the centre as the city side powered to a 9 point lead. A late surge by the Rower however saw them come close but enough time to bag these league points. Well done all…please support the lads in their final game next Tuesday evening
RESULT: J. J. Kavanagh and Sons North Junior A Hurling Championship
O'Loughlin Gaels 1:14 to 1:15 James Stephens.
A last minute fortuitous goal gave this result to neighbours James Stephens. O'Loughlins looked like they had done enough to advance to the semi-final but the long ball deceived everyone and found its way to the net to give the winners a single point win. Hard luck all
RESULT: u16 Roinn A Championship
O'Loughlin Gaels 1- 16 to 1-7 Dunnamaggin
A strong second half performance ensured these lads advance to this year's Semi-Final. The half time score stood at 0-8 to 1-3 keeping the game in the balance. But in truth Dunnamaggin's scoreline was buoyed by a fortunate goal in the early moments of the game. Two great saves later in the game by Gaels Keeper Declan Murphy kept any chance of a Dunnamaggin challenge at bay and although a Conor Kelly penalty was brilliantly saved on 41mins by the Dunnamaggin keeper the writing was on the wall when Vincent O'Grady had crashed the ball to the net moments before. Jack Sheridan delighted the Gaels support with a fine performance throughout the game while Conor Kelly kept the scoreboard ticking over. Jamie Young, Donal O'Leary, David Fogarty worked tirelessly in the backs as did John McNanamara and Ronan Lavelle up front. In truth it was a solid all round teamo performance by a team willing to work hard and finding out in the latter 30 mins that hard work pays dividends. Preparations will get underway now for the upcoming Semi-Final against tonight's other winners Kilmacow. Well done all...lovely hurling.
Result: Minor Roinn C Hurling League
Conahy 1:13 to 4:15 O'Loughlin Gaels.

RESULT: J. J. Kavanagh and Sons J.H.L. [Section B]
O'Loughlin Gaels 1:17 to 1:13 James Stephens
Great performance to power ahead in the final 15 mins of this game as the Village challenge wilted. Well done to all involved
U16 Roinn C Championship
O’Loughlin Gaels 2:4 to 2:13 Ballyragget
A bruising encounter that saw our lads fight hard but fell short in the final 10mins of the game..the score somewhat flattering the winners with a fortunate first goal. Hard luck to these lads

SUMMER CAMP ‘17
Summer Camp 2017 was another fine success with almost 400 participants enjoying activities at St. John’s Park over the 2 week event. The boys and girls from u6 to u13 were joined by inter-county stars who visited the O'Loughlin Gaels Summer Camp throughout the last two weeks! We welcomed our own Laura Murphy, Paddy Deegan and Mark Bergin as well as Liam Blanchfield, Shane Prendergast, Padraig Walsh and Miriam Walsh. A huge thank you to them all for giving their time and advising our future stars!! The Camp itself was confirmed as one of the best ever with one little girl quoted as saying “this was the best ever”..as ever as she wore her sky blue summer camp jersey and munched on her pop-corn and slushie provided on the final day by Fusion Entertainments!!! …now you can’t argue with that.! Weel done all..Roll on Summer Camp 2018.
