O'Loughlins u8s hosted the return visit of their Ballyragget counterparts last Thursday evening. This was an opportunity for this years u7s to show their metal mid-way through this summers season. The game was set up for 12 a side, 2 twenty minute halves with the first been ground hurling only. Some outstanding performances by players from both teams meant that the large support on the sideline were kept intrigued throughout. O'Loughlins newcomer Eli O'Dwyer showed how quickly you can make an impact on a team when you practice at every opportunity. He was outstanding and put himself through some tough tackles. Conor Farrell carries on in the strong line of brothers who have already made their mark on older teams in the club with two fine goals. David Balfour too made the scoring sheet after some very unselfish play from Conor Murphy and David McCormack at midfield. Sean O'Neill always looked eager to be on the ball and gave a brilliant performance from goal when called upon.
This was a fine overall display for a group of young players wishing to play their part in what has so far been a great year for the O'Loughlins u8s panel.
