PHEW!!   WHAT A WEEKEND......

The John West Féile na nGael hit town this weekend and with 28 games scheduled at St. John's Park O'Loughlin Gaels played host to what can only be described as a three day festival of Hurling, Camogie, sandwich eating, curry consuming, burger frying, music, dancing, chat, beer guzzling and mighty craic! The preparations  made by the hardworking Féile committee in the weeks preceeding meant that the whole weekend passed with ease. Everything was covered....if there was 3000 people passing through the Hebron Road gates there was going to be enough, sandwiches, tea, water, umpires, linesmen and even the bar was going to be stocked so well that nothing would run out!....no one was going to let that happen! With everybody on board it was a total club effort  - everyone putting their collective shoulders to the wheel.

There's so many to thank that a list of names is inadequate..(and dangerous!). So we will let the pictures do the talking. The big winner for this whole weekend was the club...everyone pulling together throughout the GAA & Camogie sections, Senior and Juvenile, to ensure that all our guests were treated with the respect and hospitality that O'Loughlin Gaels is renowned for.

We'll make one reference of thanks to our visiting Clubs- Sarsfields GAA of Cork , Westmeath's Raharney Camogie Club and our own Hurling & Camogie panels who revelled in the sunshine and provided us with some good memories, great action and new friends.

Enjoy the pics..and thanks.

Lovely Hurling.

O’Loughlin Gaels GAA, Est 1969

Shortly after its foundation O’Loughlin Gaels GAA Club rose to prominence as one of the most dominant in Kilkenny GAA, achieving Senior Status and varying degrees of underage successes building a solid future for the club. The Club, located in Kilkenny City adjacent to Nowlan Park, serves St. John’s Parish, boasting household names such as brothers Martin & Andy Comerford, Brian Hogan and current Kilkenny Players Mark Bergin & Paddy Deegan.

In 2001 O’Loughlin Gaels first won the Kilkenny Senior Hurling Championship and has since added three more, in 2003, 2010 and 2016. The club also boasts 2 Leinster Club Titles won in 2003 & 2010.

2011 the u14 team won the Feile na nGael hurling title. These lads also had success that year in their division of Feile Peil, with that accolade repeated again at Feile Peil 2015.
We wish every team a very enjoyable experience at Feile 17 and welcome the Cork Feile representatives to St. John’s Park.
