U14s ARE ROINN A FOOTBALL COUNTY CHAMPIONS 2015
A brilliant performance this evening by our u14 panel who were crowned County Champions after a win over Danesfort GAA in Larchfield. The wind, rain and slippery underfoot conditions should not have been conducive to good football but these young players from both clubs showed that there is ability in Kilkenny too when it comes to playing with the big ball. Good scores all round but the O'Loughlin's lads were more dangerous whe...n they got around the Danesfort goal area. They hit 7 goals in total and were it not for the heroics of the Danesfort keeper surely more goals were for the taken. Against the wind in the first half the O'Loughlins forwards hit 4 goals before Danesfort could get any grasp on the game but when they did they did manage to claw back to be within a single point at half time. With the strong wind in O'Loughlins favour in the second half however the ball was pitched firmly in the heart of the Danesfort defence and the pressure was too much from O'Loughlins who finished out the game in a scoring spree. The lads now go forward to Fèile na Peil later in the summer and we wish them and the u14 management well. Picture shows the victorious O'Loughlin Gaels and Captain, David Fogarty receiving the cup from Bord na n'Óg Chairman Willie Dempsey.
