SWLBL Grade 2 Mixed League Winners 2017-2018 Johnswell Badminton Club

MATCH PARKING
 
Next Sunday our friends from the Sunny South East will travel in their numbers for the Allianz Hurling League clash between Kilkenny & Wexford.  O’Loughlin Gaels GAA Club will again be available for Parking and it’s facilities open for supporters. Please spread the word and volunteers as always will be appreciated.
                 
JOHNSWELL BADMINTON
 
Well done to everyone at Johnswell Badminton Club who continue to make waves in National Badminton circles.  The club were The Mixed League Grade 2 winners of the South West Leinster League with a win over Portarlington in the Final. Well done to all concerned.
 
U13s FOOTBALL
 
Hard luck to the u13s who exiting the Football League at its penultimate stage when they were defeated by a better James Stephens side at the Kells Road last Sunday morning. The boys worked hard all the way through but it wasn’t to be their day.  The boys continue to train hard and prepare for the coming season.
 
EASTER CAMP
 
A great opportunity for all you Sumer Camp enthusiasts as the best Gaelic Games Camp will now run an Easter Schedule. Starting on March 26th it will run until March 30th from 10am to 2:30pm each day. Lots of Gaelic Games activity and there’s a small GAA Pack included. Rates are great value as always with a single child costing €50, 2 family members €75, and just €100 for 3 family members. MATCH PARKING
 
Parking will be available at O’Loughlin Gaels GAA Club for one of the leagues biggest attractions. Kilkenny host Tipperary in Nowlan Park at 2pm on Sunday and O’Loughlin Gaels GAA Club will open its gates for parking with facilities available for all supporters. Stewards will be needed so volunteers please be available from 12:30pm Spread the word.
 
ST. KIERAN’S COLLEGE
 
St. Kieran’s College go for another Leinster Colleges Final this week when they play against North Dublin Schools. We wish all the lads from St. Kieran’s the very best of luck and especially O’Loughlin Gaels lads Eoin O’Shea, Eoin Wall, Dacel Fwamaba,  Jamie Young and Conor Kelly who are all part of the panel.

Atlanta food trials are investigating if a raspberry extract can help improve symptoms of osteoarthritis in the knee. 
Are you interested in taking part in the food trial? Come to hear more about what's involved and decide for yourself

FOOTBALL
 
A very good exciting game on Sunday morning at St. James’s Park saw O’Loughlin Gaels earn a draw against neighbours Dickboro in round 2 of the u13s Roinn A Football league. The scoreline finished on 2-3 apiece.   It was a very cold and breezy morning so hats off to all the young players from both clubs who gave an entertaining account of the game. Well done all
 
 
O’LOUGHLINS REGISTRATION
There was another great turnout at Juvenile Registration last Friday evening when dozens of young budding stars visited the club with their families and new friends.  Hurls were sized, helmets fitted and St. John’s Park will be buzzing very soon with our new players learning the skills of gaelic games. Registration continues any evening in the club and application forms can be downloaded directly from the club’s website.

The Jobber McGrath Memorial Darts Tournament will take place at O’Loughlin Gaels GAA Club on Sunday the 11th of February.  Registration €10 is from 2pm with the first Dart to be thrown at 3pm.

Congratulations to our ’12 Books of Christmas’ winners:- Sasha Lawlor, Eimear Cormack, Lauren Alfie & Mary Stead and Angela Hunt who received book vouchers, also Angela who won the overall prize of  a Tablet.
On 15th Feb in conjunction with Healthy Ireland Iniative run by the Dept. of health we are holding an event to make healthy eating easier for Children. Award winning food blogger Ciara Attwell will talk to parents about how to make changes that can have a positive effect on how your family eats and will include creative ways to encourage them to eat nutritious food. The event is free to all and starts at 11am in this Branch.

FOOTBALL WIN
 
Well done to the O’Loughlin Gaels u13s who earned a win in the 1st round of the u13 Roinn A Football league on Sunday morning in St. John’s Park against a very good Tulloger-Rosbercon on a scoreline of 4-4 to 1-2.
 
 
O’LOUGHLINS REGISTRATION
Registration of Players from u6 to u13 will take place in the club on this Friday 9th of February from 7pm to 8pm. Full membership details are on the clubs website.
