There was no winner of last weeks Club Lotto. The numbers drawn were 9, 11, 21, 24 and the bonus number was 19. Next week’s Jackpot prize will be €9,600 so make sure to get a ticket from the usual promotors.
YOUNG PLAYER PATHWAY – TONIGHT (Wed) 8pm
The new O’Loughlin Gaels Young Player Pathway will be launched TONIGHT at 8pm (Wednesday) in time for the 2017 season. Brian Ryan, Games & Coaching Development – Kilkenny County Board will be along to speak and acknowledge the leadership O’Loughlin Gaels GAA has taken in developing this publication. Packed full of drills, skill challenges and tips for players, mentors and parents this is a fine publication put together by our very dedicated team. It will be posted on-line on the club’s website for ALL to use so make sure to look it up and download what you need. All mentors, coaches and team managers as well as parents and representatives from the local schools are invited to attend.
WALSH CUP FINAL
At the time of submitting notes the venue for the Walsh Cup Final had yet to be decided. Should it take place in Nowlan Park throw in is at 2pm on Sunday. O’Loughlin Gaels GAA will have its facilities open to supporters before and after the game. The Hebron Road is an ideal stop off around big match time to meet up with old (or make new) friends. Best of luck to the Kilkenny Team and all involved.
Congratulations to up & coming star Paddy Deegan who made his senior debut with the Kilkenny Senior Hurling Team at last Sunday’s Walsh Cup Semi-Final win over Wexford in New Ross. In a hard fought contest through tough conditions Paddy had a solid performance which included scoring a point from play when every score proved vital in the 0-15 to 0-14 victory. Well done Paddy – lovely Hurling
O’LOUGHLING GAELS CLUB DINNER DANCE – Mar 10th
O’Loughlin Gaels GAA will host its Club Dinner Dance in the Club Hall on Friday March the 10th. As 2016 was a special year for the Club with the Senior Hurlers been crowned County Champions, this will also be a night when the players will officially be presented their medals. A three course meal, music, dancing, disco and a year full of positive memories to recount it promises to be a special night. YOUNG GAELS HURL MacDONAGH JUNCTION
Well done to the team of mentors who brought O’Loughlin Gaels GAA & Camogie Club’s youngest to MacDonagh Junction Shopping Centre on Sunday last to promote their Juvenile Registration Evening. Dozens of u6 and u8s boys and girls donned the famous white jersey bearing the logo of sponsors MacDonagh Junction Shopping Centre and thrilled passers-by and shoppers with their hurling skills for three hours. The youngsters are out again next Sunday from 1pm to 4pm so please drop in to MacDonagh Junction and give them all your encouragement.

JUVENILE REGISTRATION FEB 10th
If you have an address in St. Johns Parish then O’Loughlin Gaels GAA is the club for you. With facilities the envy of so many only a stones throw from Nowlan Park you can’t go wrong joining the club that is home to the current Senior Hurling County Champions. Groundsman Eddie Maher and his team have been busy with pitch maintenance throughout the off season so that every square inch of the facilities are pristine for the return of our young Gaels… and the welcoming of new Gaels. The juvenile section is stocking up the equipment store and on Friday February the 10th at 7.00pm all boys and girls u6 to u12 from St. John’s Parish are invited to the club to register their intent for the season ahead with O’Loughlin Gaels GAA & Camogie Clubs. There will be an opportunity to get photographs with the Tom Walsh Cup that the seniors hurlers collected after their County Final win, and no doubt aspire to do the same when they complete the new Player Pathway that the club have carefully tailored for its juvenile players. Congratulations to Antoinette Hayes, Joann Matthews and Deirdre Walsh who were our three winners from the 12 book challenge over the Christmas period. The overall winner of the Samsung tablet was Karen Walsh, Graiguenamanagh Branch.
Our Book club meets at the later time of 11.45 until 12.45 every last Wed of the Month.
Our knitters meet every Tues evening from 5pm to 7pm.
We host French conversation group this Fri from 11.30 to 12.30 and every second Fri onwards.
New members welcome to join all groups.
