 Reserve your seat on our Croker bound bus for the minor & senior semi-finals on Sunday August 10th. Tickets are keenly priced at €15 for adults and €10 for children and can be booked by calling to the Clubhouse bar. The bus will be leaving St John's Park at 10:00.

O'Loughlin Gaels GAA Club holds its Annual Golf Classic in Kilkenny G.C. on Thursday 28th & Friday 29th August. €150 will get your team of three a tee time on the time-sheet and a chance to win some wonderful prizes. The sheet is filling up fast but Michael O'Reilly is on standby to take your call on 087/2554300. Or simply call into the Clubhouse bar any evening after 9:00 to book your time.
  A bumper crowd made their way to James’s Park on Friday night last for the annual O’Loughlin Gaels GAA Club Benefit Night of Greyhound Racing. The McCarthy family (Eurospar) were our special guests. Eurospar has been a loyal friend to OLG over the years and we thank them for their continued support. George Candler’s dulcet tones rang out across the tannoy throughout the night and kept proceedings moving along. Messrs Cullen & Croghan served up American style Hot Dogs to the children of St John’s Parish while the races proceeded apace behind them. This reporter bumped into many members – too numerous to mention and was amazed at the variety of ways punters went about trying to select that elusive winning dog. Some simply picked a number between one and six. Others were more scientific however & deployed a strategy that involved “studying form” and analysing “track record”. One well known female member told this reporter she had to eye the beast from top to tail before deciding if he was for her or not. What a pity she hadn’t applied those selection criteria – when she got hitched all those years ago – to yer man beside her!
Eddie Buckley (Chairman OLG) took to the microphone and sincerely thanked our sponsors and all those involved in making the night possible – particularly Ben Fogarty and his team. Eddie signed off by wishing Aidan Fogarty and his seniors the very best for the remainder of the season. The evening was moving along effortlessly at this stage and as night began to descend on the track – we were treated to the main event – the final race. Race ten had the much fancied Tearaway La running in trap one. Tearaway La’s owner is none other than Richie Moylan of OLG. The omens were good. Those who place the “pin on the page” seemed to opt for him as did the more seasoned and scientific punters. Even the aforementioned beast surveyor told this reporter “she liked what she was seeing” and placed the last of her hard earned on Tearaway La. Moylan’s animal duly obliged and the biggest roar of the night could be heard all around St Canices’ Parish, as Tearaway La brought home the bacon. We look forward to seeing you all again this time next year in James’s Park – mark the date in your diary now.  If you want to be included in the raffle for the Spanish Holiday, your money and dog night ticket stub MUST be with us by Thursday (tomorrow) night at the latest. We are appealing to all ticket sellers as well as individual purchasers to make sure you get your stub / cash to the Club ASAP. Ben Fogarty and his team are in the Clubhouse bar from 9:00 p.m. each evening this week. Tomorrow is your last chance. Enjoy the Dog Night on Friday - it promises to be a great occasion.  Friday 18th July is surely a date for the diary, as that’s the date for the O’Loughlin Gaels annual race night. One ten Euro ticket will get you admission to Kilkenny Dog Track as well as your own race card for the night. The first race is at 8:00 and if the weather is anything like last year; there promises to be another bumper crowd in St James’s Park. Ticket sellers have been out and about in the last week or two. Their mission: to visit every house in the Parish. We would appreciate it if you could support this great cause. Remember – the monies collected will go towards the day to day running of what is a very large sporting operation in your city. Whether it be the training and kitting out of juveniles for the Continent or preparing our seniors for a run in this year’s league / championship – the costs are prohibitive and so, we need your help. Please answer the call by looking out for our ticket sellers as they go door to door over the coming evenings.
 O'Loughlin Gaels will host their own U-14 tournament over two Saturdays, the 5th and 12th of July. The club has invited teams from all over the county and the much anticipated tournament is getting under way this Saturday. Each team will play two group games this Saturday and each team (regardless of group results) will play both a semi final and final on the following Saturday. The aim is to give all players reasonable playing time. Recognised "A" players aren't eligible to play in this unique tournament. We look forward to a great buzz around the club over the next two Saturdays.
 Road Hurling will take place on Saturday 19th July at 6.30pm in Johnswell Village. Teams of 3 @ €30 per team. Under 14’s will get a discounted rate of €15 per team. Registration from 5.30pm onwards. Senior County hurlers Brian Hogan and Tommy Walsh will be in attendance.
