Good work by the u16s and Management who successfully negotiated round 1 of this years Duggan Steel Roinn A Hurling Championship with distinction. From the off the O'Loughlins boys were firing on all cylinders and a hapless Mooncoin were never able to come to term with it. The writing was on the wall well before the half time whistle sounded at a shoreline of 4-12 to 0-3. Dacel Fwamba was having Man of the Match performance hitting the net 3 times and causing untold damage to the Mooncoin defence. Hot on his heels for the same accolade was the classy Conor Heary who accounted for 2-5 of the total score while Conor Kelly contributed a cool 1-6. But for the marksmen to score good supply has to provided and Full back David Fogarty, Mikey Butler at had back and the work rate of Oisín Murphy and Johnny Collins (until injury forced him off the field) was a massive factor in this regard. Sean Baird was introduced for the injured Jonny Collins and took his opportunity by adding 3 points from play of his own.
It was a good work out but one the management will be wary of there are tougher challenges ahead. Well done to all involved but heads down a..keep working... keep focused and these lads will be in the shake up for the final stages of this Championship.
