U16s into Championship Semi-Final
Roinn A Hurling Championship
O'Loughlin Gaels 0-16 to 2-6 Dicksboro
It was a tight game that called for extra effort to get the required result from this Championship Quarter Final. On 20mins it looked like our boys were in total control when corner forward Eoin Wall was through on goal only to be taken down..the referee decided on this occasion that 'no advantage was accruing' and blew for the free..the shaking net indicated otherwise! A short melee followed a late challenge from the oppositions defender and the St. Johns side were reduced to fourteen men. Now some mathematicians will tell you that there's no such thing as 110%.....but O'Loughlins boys will tell you different. 110% commitment was given by every player showing great determination to get the win. The win was always going to be theirs and they weren't going to let any one tell them otherwise. Impressive workrate all over the field contributed to yet another fine team performance. Eoin O'Shea was a power house in and around the centre of the field and took some fine scores of his own. Osín Murphy, Conor Heary and Joe Murphy dominated proceeding on their half back line. Jordan Molloy was the launching pad for many of the O'Loughlins attacks while Ben Maher who converted most of what was presented to him was as accurate as ever. The call from the sideline was 'workrate' and every player for O'Loughlin Gaels answered that call with that and more. Well done to these lads and we look forward now to a Semi-Final meeting with either Danesfort or James Stephens who play at the weekend.
