SENIORS NEED YOUR SUPPORT
On Sunday O’Loughlin Gaels face James Stephens in the first of a double header of Senior Hurling Championship Quarter Finals in Nowlan Park. Throw in is at 2pm and a big support is needed. The lads did all the hard work at the beginning of the league to ensure Quarter Final Qualification and are going into this game on the back of a good win over Dicksboro in the League Shield Final two weeks ago. The hurlers will not be found wanting when they take to the field and will put every effort in to secure a semi-final spot, so a large St. John’s Parish crowd is needed to drive them over the line. Stick together..head to Ardán Breathnach off O’Loughin Road, up the steps and in to the right to roar on O’Loughlin Gaels.
JOHN IS SYRIA BOUND
O’Loughlin Gaels Clubman John Sheridan is one of many of our Defence Force members to head to Syria this week for six months peace keeping duty. John is a volunteer at the club mentoring, coordinating and often using his catering skills for our juvenile teams. This week at the u6 end of year party John was presented with a specially commissioned hurl by his friend and fellow mentor Brendan O’Leary in a gesture of acknowledgement of the good work John does. We wish John and all his colleagues in the Defence Forces well and commend them for their good work. Stay safe all.
As the juvenile section closes out its season the u6 mentors put on a party to honour the youngest stars at O’Loughlin Gaels GAA. After a year of intense training and hard work which included many games , tournaments and a massive home blitz, the u6s and their families were treated to an evening of fun activities followed by refreshments and hot foods. Stephen McCormack was again on hand to orchestrate the whole event aided and abetted by a group of like-minded volunteers keen to encourage the clubs newest hurlers. Great work by these men and all those who volunteer their time to mentor the clubs’ Juvenile Teams from u6 right through to u18. Well done to all involved
