AIB LEINSTER CLUB FINAL
O’Loughlin Gaels GAA Club will take the whole of St. John’s Parish to Portlaoise on Sunday for the Final of the Leinster Club Senior Hurling Championship. The lads performances are on an upward spiral each time they’ve gone out this year and they’ll have to up a gear again when facing Dublin Champions Cuala GAA. A huge St. Johns Parish support is required as all are called upon to make a big effort to bring more silverware to St. John’s Park. CAMOGIE CLUB CELEBRATES 25 YEARS
On Saturday Night next, December 3rd, O’Loughlin Gaels Camogie club will celebrate 25 years of camogie in Johns Park with a trip down memory lane. Please join us in celebrating the players ,the managers, chairpersons, groundskeepers, jersey washers, sandwich makers, goalscorers, shot-stoppers, free-takers and supporters from the past quarter century in raising a glass to those involved who are still with us and those who have passed on. We need your war stories and rose tinted glasses, old photographs, newspaper clippings, stories and kit that will remind us of where we began and where we are going. It promises to be good evening where there will be a glass of wine or two, a bit of music and plenty of chat and reminiscing. Come along please – all welcome!

Kilkenny Camogie will host Monster Bingo at O’Loughlin Gaels Club on Sunday afternoon at 2pm. There’s no doubt Kilkenny Camogie has done the County Proud in 2016 and deserve all the help they can get to fundraise for their continued success. It will be a great afternoon whether your’re a Bingo enthusiast or not..it’s for a great cause and it will be lots of fun!!
At the recent ’76 Player Reunion Former Club Chairman John Skehan honoured Dunmore man Tommy Gregg for his commitment to the Club over a sustained period of time since the formation of the club. Tommy has been ever present behind the bar and always available to help out at any event. An avid supporter of the Gaels and all things GAA Tommy spent some time refereeing and was a valued promoter of the Club’s very successful Lotto. A small presentation was made to Tommy and his wife Peggy in front of their family and friends at the social event where all present were pleased to shoe there appreciation. Thanks Tommy.

SHANE’S CASTLE RUN – ALZHEIMERS VILLAGE CENTRE
Senior Hurler Shane Mahony wishes to thank everyone who donated towards the Fun Run at the Castle Park on Sunday Nov. 20th last in aid of the Alzheimer Society of Ireland and to everyone who helped out. It was a huge success and what happened on the day was unimaginable. Since day one the donations were coming in and to raise almost €12,000 was out of this world. ALL the money is going towards the Village Day Care in Kilkenny. Shane – “On behalf of my Dad, my Family and everyone at the Village Day Care Centre, Thank a million”. Well done Shane.

JUVENILE CHRISTMAS PARTY – SANTA CAN’T WAIT!!
Keep Sunday December the 11th free for a special visit to St. Johns Park for one big jolly guy in a red suit. Santa will make his annual visit to the club for the Juvenile Christmas Party as he tours the country raising funds for Temple Street Childrens Hospital. As always no doubt the young players and their families will be generous in their support of this worthy cause and as always Santa will be generous with his time for all the young children. Santa is expected to drop in around 3pm so the Party throws in at 2.30pm

Like all parish Choirs, the 12 O’clock Choir is currently looking for new members. Please consider sharing your talent and ability with our congregations. Male and female are most welcome. TAIZE YOUTH TRIP 2017
A youth trip to Taizé in France organised by Ossory Youth will take place from 25th June to 2nd July 2017. A week in Taize is an opportunity for reflection and contemplation and a little step back from daily life. But bringing people together is also the essence of Taize and it is a week of meeting young people from different countries and cultures where new friendships are made. Over 100,000 young people from around the world make the trip to Taizé each year.
