MICK GALWEY JOINS THE O’LOUGHLINS TEAM
Great news for O’Loughlin GAA as former Munster & Ireland Rugby Legend and Kerry Footballer Mick Galwey teams up to form part of our Junior A Management Team for 2016. Headed by Davey Ronan ( who helped guide the successful 2015 u21 and Minor teams ) Mick is joins a stellar cast in Seanie Tyrrell, Philly Holohan & Gerry Buckley and will offer a wealth of dressing room and coaching experience to the set up.  Welcome Mick.

THE BULL RUSH- THE SRS PLAYERS FUNDRAISER
This week’s Bull Rush Raffle, the Players Fundraiser, was embroiled in controversy when Team Captain Martin ‘Texas Longhorn’ Comerford was removed from the race pending a full investigation by the CCCCC (the Confederation of Continental Cows Controversies Committee) of ‘alleged’ misconduct. The former All-Star and 6 time All-Ireland winner faced the wrath of the CCCCC at a 3am Saturday interview at CCCCC Headquarters in SRS Steel & Roofing Fabrication Offices, Castlecomer.  After 36 hours of  deliberation the CCCCC found that there was no evidence of misadventure on the players part and Martin was fully reinstated to the competition much to the relief of club stalwart, Lochlainn the Bull. The other captains were not so enthusiastic however and were happy to proceed without him and increase their chances of winning the team prize – a specially commissioned training jersey. However after reinstating Team Texas Longhorn the hurling legend found that he was no longer at the top of the race leader board and had been trumped by Team Brain ‘Hereford Red’ Hogan into first place for the first time on a cool 188. Martin gained very little ground however and drops to 2nd on 177. Mark ‘Angus Browne’ Kelly follows with 169 and has a lot of work to do to claim the top spot,  as does Mark ‘Belgian Blue’ Bergin who did well but holds 4th position on 147. Last again is Andy ‘Beef Shorthorn’ Kearns on 114 but with the biggest gain in sales for the third consecutive week this one is one to watch.
Tickets for the raffle are available from your player or online on www.oloughlingaels.gaa.ie Bull Rush..  . 1st prize of a Bull Calf or €1000.  Well done to all the players for driving their own initiative and a huge thanks to event sponsors SRS Steel & Roofing Systems for supporting the lads.

BE A CLUB MATADOR
The Bull Rush Raffle is a fundraiser set up by the players to purchase Strength & Conditioning Equipment for the Club. Tickets at €10 each but for €100 you get 13 tickets (3 free) and your family name or business permanently posted on the club’s wall in a specially commissioned ‘Matadors Framed Poster’ for loyal supporters. This is an chance to have your name forever associated with O’Loughlin Gaels GAA and already many families and businesses have snapped up the opportunity. So not only will you increase your chances to win the 1st prize of the Calf Bull but your support will be recognized permanently in the club and on the club’s website at http://www.oloughlingaels.gaa.ie/store/p12/Buy_10_Tickets_to_support_all_teams__and_become_a_Club__Matador_.html

U14 & U16  MEDAL PRESENTATION
Next Friday, January 29th, our successful u14 and u16s panels will be presented with their medals for their achievements throughout the 2015 season. It promises to be a great night where these young players will be feted in front of their families and friends and members of O’Loughlin Gaels GAA. The u14s had a very successful year finishing up with retaining the u14 Hurling Championship title for the 3rd year in a row and the 4th in five years for the club. On top of that they boys achieved success when winning the Paddy Grace Tournament (County Feile), The County Football Championship and the All-Ireland Feil Peil Div 5 Championship back in June. The u16s will also be rewarded for their efforts when they receive medals as u16 County Hurling Champions, County Football Champions and County Hurling League winners. Not bad going boys. Looks like it could be a long and enjoyable evening! ALL ARE WELCOME

U21 & MINOR MEDAL PRESENTATION
The successful O’Loughlin Gaels u21s Hurling Team will be presented their County Medals in the Club Lounge on Saturday February the 6th at 8.30pm. This is a great opportunity for club members and supporters to get together and celebrate this great achievement. It was 34 years since the title was last won by a club team so there will be plenty of reminiscing, but also some thoughts will no doubt be put forward to make sure it’s not another 34 years before we see the next one.
In addition to the u21s the Minors will also be honoured as they recently added County Minor Football to the Club’s Roll of Honour for 2015. Om their way to success the lads overcame the cahllneges of st. Martins, Dicksboro before beating James Stephen in the Final. The lounge is big enough so don’t be shy! – ALL ARE WELCOME.

ANNUAL  PARISH SOCIAL

The Annual St. John’s Parish Social will take place on Sunday, January 31st in Langton House Hotel. Tickets will be on sale next weekend at €10 each, for which you get a meal followed by music and dancing.
