U12s SURF ‘N HURL

U12s enjoyed a super weekend last touring The Kingdom ..hurling and team building, Surfing and swimming, more hurling..paid a visit to Fungi...lunched with Paidi O Sé's..and more hurling. What was the best part of the weekend?...The hurling!! They hurled like champions against a very strong Bruff side (Limerick) on Friday as the rain poured down…It was a performance that demonstrated the appetite that these lads have for the game and set the tone for the remainder of the tour. They boarded in Ventry Co. Kerry ..the home place of Kerry legend Páidi O’Shea…and hurled again in Tralee on Saturday where three teams enjoyed successes against Ballyheigue GAA, St. Brendans GAA Ardfert and hosts Tralee Parnells in a series of 6 hard fought games in front of a surprisingly large travelling support. Thanks to all the parents and Grandparents, a few uncles, the odd aunt...and families that travelled to support. Some holidaying members even dropped by to support when word of the young Gaels visit got out. Well done boys...good club lads all of you it was Lovely hurling. It wasn’t all hurling though..the boys learned about recovery. What better way to recover from those bruising encounters than to leap into to the Atlantic waves. Ventry strand was a favourite on both nights and on Saturday afternoon the boys were taken to Inch Beach for 2 hours of surfing and crashing waves. A rare thrill for lads from the marble city. On Sunday morning the boys paid a visit to local attraction Fungi at Dingle Bay , then headed to the famous Páidi O’Sheas for their lunch before returning to O’Loughlin Gaels with memories that will last a lifetime.  Well done all involved.
