Lovely Hurling
FEILE
Hard luck to the u14s who came up against a very strong Young Irelands team in the Paddy Grace Feile Tournament Semi-Final last weekend. The lads exited the competition but were back in action training with the u13s and u15s within 24 hours. No stopping these lads..they love their hurling.
PLAYERS NEWS
Congratulations to O’Loughlin Gaels players Eoin O’Shea (0-1), Conor Kelly (0-7), Dacel Fwamba and Jamie Young (1-0) and their St. Kieran’s College team mates in winning the All-Ireland Colleges Final in Semple Stadium last weekend. Conor Kelly put in a stellar performance yielding a total of 7 points throughout the game while Eoin O’Shea put in a workman like shift earning a superb point from play early on in the game. The champions however almost let the title slip after loosing a 12point advantage to see the game level at full time..but an early Jamie Young goal in extra time kicked off a dominant display that eased them to another All-Ireland title for the school. Well done boys lovely hurling
Best of luck to Paddy Deegan in Sundays Allianze League Hurling Final. Paddy has well established himself throughout the league as a key players in the last line of the Kilkenny defence. He put in another fine show last weekend against Wexford and upped his game in the second period when needed.
The Easter Camp received a visit last week from some of Kilkenny's finest. Senior Kilkenny players Enda Morrissey, Martin Keoghan, James Maher, Richie Leahy and Darren Brennan joined Paddy Deegan to offer some tips and advice to some lucky young participants of the O'Loughlin Gaels GAA Easter Camp. Packed with Gaelic Games action, the boys and girls had the time of their lives..indoor hurling, Gaelic football, skills development and training matches... at St. John's Park pitches and indoor facilities. There was plenty of competition as the Kilkenny boys were well impressed by the efforts displayed on the hurling fields of St. Johns Park. Competition too within the club as co-organiser Mark Bergin wondered if older brother Niall ever had so many inter-county stars for his Summer Camps!! Well we're all looking forward to summer camp now.... !!!
Well done to all the young participants ..almost 130 in all. Another great club job done by organisers Mark Bergin and Stephen Murphy and backed by a top coaching team in Paddy Deegan, Huw Lawlor, Robbie Buckley and Lizzie Kavanagh along with some up and coming stars in juveniles from both the hurling and Camogie clubs.
The good news is ..details of this years Summer Camp will be released soon.
Now that's lovely hurling
