Club Volunteer – important OL’G Club information briefing – 31st March, 2020
Thank you for agreeing to be one of our Club Volunteers during the COVID-19 crisis, working with Kilkenny Local Authorities, to assist in delivering to elderly and vulnerable people in our community, who have prepaid for their grocery and medical provisions.

You will work with a Club Coordinator on a designated day each week from now until this time of difficulty passes. Your Coordinator will be in touch with you in the coming two days to talk you through how the process works. In the meantime can you  please familiarise yourself with the following;

·         Government of Ireland and O’LGs short briefings - please view the documents below and confirm to your coordinator by clicking on the word 'Comments' at the bottom of the page and typing in the comment  "I confrim I have read" with regard to the following;
o   “Sensible Volunteering in response to Covid-19”
o   “O’Loughlin Gaels GAA Community Support for the Elderly and Vulnerable”

·         Garda Vetting – in due course we will be in touch to carry out any Garda Vetting requirements – Brian Fox 087 9984853 foxbrian82@gmail.com will advise on this.

·         Club Volunteers – we have set up a What’sApp group text for your specific Club Volunteer group of 10. Your Coordinator will contact you to introduce themself and to receive your confirmation that you have read the briefings items, set out above. Please note that;
o   Volunteers will work in pairs and they have been paired accordingly
o   Volunteers should ideally wear an identifiable O’LG top
o   You should observe 2m Social distancing at all times – this means travel in separate cars when collecting and dropping goods (unless both are from the one family, which is the case in a small number of pairs)

o    “O’Loughlin Gaels GAA Community Support for the Elderly and Vulnerable” flyer which is below explains how the process works and will ensure your safety and that of those in the community.

We want to thank you for all of your help to date and we look forward to working with you over the coming weeks. The commitment of our Club Coordinators and Volunteers has been really superb. We are confident that all of us working together can make this an easier time for some of the most vulnerable in our community.

Best wishes,
Eoin Lawlor Club Lead 087 - 6806833, Eddie Buckley Club Lead 087 - 2304139
